This is the Cha-am Hash Report, for Hash #171 February 4th 2012
HARES: Quick Micky Mou
Vd's ride was in use by his big boss so we mooched a ride with the nice man Dave the Rave.
The closer we got to the A-site we all started looking for those big ' YELLOW & RED ' signs
(you know the big ones we all agreed to!).
Suddenly we saw this very small white & red sign hanging in the trees in the medium. We all
were looking again but no more signs, further down the highway & past the 7.1 km distance as
noted in the mis-directions. Ok U-turn it is & even on our second try we caught site of a larger
white & red sign.
We found the car park but not much space to get turned around.
Nevertheless about 65 runners appeared with 4 special guest from Russia. Now a few folks are
complaining about the starting time. No change as announced by Tink's until the already agreed
upon date.
At 4:30 the runners & walkers are off ( Mickey Mou tells me there are 20 checks, my reply was
" Are you crazy?") straight back to the highway & into a long false trail.
A couple of the front runners find paper on the left & we're off again. It all appears to be flat as
we run into a heard of cattle & a very small farmer takes care of them for us.
We head West into the hot baking sun through burnt out fields & dirt roads.
Man it's hot, I hope you brought some water.
The general heading seems to be a very big circle to the left. Along this dirt road I can see
Steakhouse & another short cutter. I'm off paper now & wondering if I made the right decision.
About another 50 meters there's a road & the cars. Moving towards the cars I get some
cold water & see the On-In paper.
Suddenly before I head out to catch the runners coming in, there's BB & he's first. He has almost
40 years of hashing & knows his way around, so he tells me.

waiting about 20 minutes before I spot Mudman, then more walkers & runners are coming in.
I tell them that BB was in first & almost 20 minutes ago & they all say " he cheated."
The runners are all in now but not too happy about the run. Everybody's cooling down & having some
snacks.
Our famous circle starts & all is normal as we welcome the Russian gang of four, until a debate breaks
out between Tink's & Scotchtape & we don't even know what it's about.
They get brought in by DCB for ' fighting ' & get their double down downs.
Oh yes somebody was caught ' kissing ' in the bush. Gee what will they think of next?
The circle ends short & sweet Now we're off to Tik's place for the On,On dinner.
Not too many showed up but probably because it was a long way to go. Many told me there could have
been another restaurant closer & that's probably true.
But for those who didn't go let me tell you what you missed. It was the best menu put on by Dave & Tik,
an excellent meal.
Here's a small sample of the list as I recall. Beef Stew with boiled potatoes, Tom Yum soup, Chicken
Legs ( no not the GM ), Sweet & Sour fish, Larb Moo & of course white rice & many vegetables.
I'm sure something was left out but many went back for another plate, as it was all well done.
Great job by Tik's lil' restaurant & staff.
